When reporting to viewers, the information must be factual and correct. As I mentioned in my introduction, yellow journalism didn't care what information was published as long as it sold newspapers. In modern media, American citizens manage the media themselves to ensure that it does not provide false information. Some viewers automatically assume that all information presented in the clip is accurate; However, it is often the case that news sources rush and put everything together in less than an hour, although this tactic has its drawbacks. There have been several instances where news sources have misspelled words and used inaccurate information. For example, on May 4, 2015, while Fox News was on scene, they reported that a Baltimore police officer shot a black man in the back. This information was gathered through an alleged eyewitness, who had seen the police officer shoot the black man. As the reporter on scene continued to interview the same witness, he received information from the studio that there had been no shooting. From this point on, the public is confused as to what really happened in Baltimore. Lacking a reliable source, Fox News wrongly reported inaccurate information. The witness could have been right, but due to lack of credibility and in-studio reporters correcting the report on the scene, viewers are left unsure of what to say..
