Life is meaningful by showing God's love through service to the needs of others. When trying to answer the question of the meaning of life, each person will give a different answer, one that would reflect their age, religious beliefs, personal history and current situation. For many, the meaning of life can be best described as the satisfaction of a person's basic needs for survival, as Simone Weil observed. She categorized the needs of the body as food, shelter, clothing, and physical security, while the needs of the soul were meaning and value, rooted in freedom of choice (Ambrosio, 2008). On a smaller scale, parents who make daily sacrifices to care for their families can be equated with the same philosophy and this is the view that currently resonates with this author. In the first module, Dr. Ambrosio introduced and developed the hero and character images. saint. He described heroes as living selflessly in search of personal fulfillment and saints as living for others, accepting love from God and men while showing love in return. Heroes overcame their fate and were best represented in the Homeric epics of Greek tragedies as citizen heroes. By representing both the hero and the saint, we can come closest to deciphering the meaning of life as stated in the thesis. In this author's opinion, humans will fall into what the professor calls "mutated versions" of a hero or saint (Ambrosio, 2008). For example, many saints in the Bible were repentant, converted, and forgiven murderers and thieves. Through this, they became heroes of the Bible and dedicated their lives to the love of God. The paths of both were marked by self-sacrifice, which is in keeping with this author's understanding of the meaning of life.
