The National Institute of Child Health and Development Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development (NICHD SECCYD) uses this model to offer the idea of ​​success in reading and mathematics as well as socio-emotional competence, through considering the support of the material situation and "maternal and paternal psychological functioning" and how this affects children. An NICHD SEYCCD study produced two sets of results on children transitioning to school in a father-living-with-the-family situation, investigating the direct and indirect influences of fathers on transitioning children. The first study of 648 families demonstrated that children aged 4 1/2 to children aged 7 to 8 had fathers who were more sensitive and more autonomous than the mother-child relationship. Teachers also reported that children whose parents had intimate marriages had fewer internalizing problems, and they believed that the child's sociosocial adjustment was higher when the father reported higher marital support. The second round of longitudinal research presented results ranging from 4.5 years to 8-9 years, observing mothers' and fathers' sensitive support for children's autonomy. Children's autonomy, teacher-child
