    Home advantage should be gained by the team with the best overall record. It's not fair to rely on just one game during the season because it impacts something so important. In baseball, players constantly go through hot and cold streaks. Sometimes pitchers have bad games and give up a lot of runs. The All Star game should be a time where everyone can have fun. Whether a player strikes out 3 times or hits 3 home runs, he still deserves to be there. Players shouldn't have to go out on the field knowing that if they don't perform well, they're jeopardizing their chances of having home field advantage in the World Series. Another problem with the importance of the All Star Game is that coaches don't play the game to win. Coaches are constantly making substitutions because it is the goal of every player on the team to get into the game. Additionally, in MLB, the rule is that there must be at least one player from each team on the roster.
