The War of 1812, considered the Second Revolutionary War, helped solidify the independence of the United States. This war took place in the 19th century and represented an important context in the history of the United States. In fact, historians have helped preserve the importance of this war; however, in some cases their historical content may differ. Authors AJ Langguth, George C. Daughan, and Donald R. Hickey are established historical writers who have decided to approach this part of American history in their own way. Thus, through the analysis of their books, the most important aspects of the War of 1812 will be recovered and at the same time the inconsistencies of historical facts will be revealed. The first book Union 1812: The Americans Who Fought the Second World War AJ Langguth's Independence Day takes up the history of the War of 1812, providing a broad context of events before, during, and after the war. In this way, each chapter of the book introduces figures who played an important role in the War of 1812, such as Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Oliver Perry, Andrew Jackson, Isaac Brock, etc. According to Langguth, since the early 1800s, Many circumstances led to the War of 1812, but especially the incident that occurred......in the middle of the newspaper......Arlotte and Detroit ; however, Perry was decisively transferred to the USS Niagara which was intact for the moment. In the end, Perry defeated the Royal Navy aboard the USS Niagara. After describing the battle, Daughan highlights a famous line that Perry wrote to General Harrison: "We have met the enemy and they are ours." ยป Today, this expression is commonly used in the US military. In this regard, in the History Channel's documentary film "Extreme History with Roger Daltrey", American war strategies during the Battle of Lake Erie are illustrated in detail. This film presents the lifestyle and obstacles of U.S. Naval officers aboard American ships and the victory of General Oliver Hazard Perry in order to intensify the relevance of this victory in American history. The book and film create a heroic narrative. image of General Perry.
