are absolutely ridiculous. To help make these claims, the video and article both appeal to logic and question the actual mental capacity of those who believe the counterarguments to be correct. In the quoted speech, Schlichter states that people "can talk all day about how crime has declined where concealed carry is allowed, while it thrives in Democratic blue cities where gun control is the strictest” (Owens). This alludes to the recent Chicago shootings, saying there is a higher crime rate in a city with some of the strictest gun laws, and yet people still believe that better control will prevent crimes to be committed. He also continues with more facts, saying that people "can cite statistics showing that law-abiding citizens who legally carry firearms are exponentially less likely to commit gun crimes than others" and " offer government statistics showing how the typical American is many times more likely to die from a car accident, fall or poisoning than from murder by gun on fire” (Owens). Now in the video our famous characters discuss the lines and quotes they used to try to convert people's thoughts. Ironically, these lines sound a lot like those many Democrats have tried to use to drum up more support for the party.
