  • Essay / The importance of trust - 416

What is trust? According to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, confidence is an assumed confidence in the character, ability, and strength of someone or something. My definition of confident is someone who can do something without being monitored or being able to depend on someone. The central point of this essay will be trust. I will deepen confidence at home, at school and confidence in general. Follow me on this journey as I explain why confidence is necessary and how it improves your character. Let’s get started… Confidence is necessary wherever you go. In my opinion, I think it's the most important because home is where the heart is. My heart is my family. At home, you have to have confidence. Without trust in your own home, you are like a stranger in a stranger's house. I say this because when you are not trusted in your own home, you will be constantly monitored and controlled. This will make you very uncomfortable. Having confidence in your home means having the confidence of your parents. When your parents trust you, it's one of the best feelings in the world. You have a sense of responsibility and a feeling of independence. You don't need to be monitored every time you're on the computer and you won't be asked what you're doing when you're in the bathroom. (Yes, I'm making this a personal issue). When you have confidence in your home, you have confidence everywhere you go. You will also be trusted to do things outside of your home, like going to retreats and watching movies with friends. This is why confidence is necessary at home.♫ Confidence is also necessary at school. Trust is necessary with your parents and teachers when it comes to school. Your parents have to trust you every day when they go to work and send you to school to behave and do all your work. They don't have time to be at work and worry about a class or their job being disrupted. They need to be able to go to work and be comfortable. It's hard enough to work anyway. Your teachers must also trust you. They need to be able to know that you won't cheat on a test or that you will do your homework before you come to class and that you won't copy someone else's work..
