    After a tragic car accident involving the President and First Lady, Chief Secret Service Agent Mike Banning receives his walking papers. Eighteen months later, Banning took a clerical position in the U.S. Treasury. A conference held between the president and the South Korean prime minister at the White House allows a powerful terrorist group to infiltrate and take over the White House and take the commander and leader hostage. The ban, along with the entire nation, bears witness to the fall of the White House or “Olympus,” as it comes under attack from all sides. The Speaker of the House assumes the role of acting president and coordinates his response with some of the nation's highest officials. Without hesitation, Banning uses his extensive knowledge of the White House and specialized skills to combat the heavily armed invaders to secure the President and prevent the terrorists from achieving their goals and sending the world and its nations into the Third World War.
