After a tragic car accident involving the President and First Lady, Chief Secret Service Agent Mike Banning receives his walking papers. Eighteen months later, Banning took a clerical position in the U.S. Treasury. A conference held between the president and the South Korean prime minister at the White House allows a powerful terrorist group to infiltrate and take over the White House and take the commander and leader hostage. The ban, along with the entire nation, bears witness to the fall of the White House or “Olympus,” as it comes under attack from all sides. The Speaker of the House assumes the role of acting president and coordinates his response with some of the nation's highest officials. The North Korean terrorist group Olympus Has Fallen, known as "KUF", manages to overthrow the White House in less than thirteen minutes. A coordinated air and ground assault in four phases.
