IntroductionGlobalization is a process that results from technological and human innovation. The term “globalization” has received a tremendous amount of interest and attention in recent years, simply because it is changing the world around us in so many ways and at such a rapid rate. Many see globalization as a negative phenomenon, believing that it increases inequalities between countries, threatens employment and even stops social progress, others see globalization as a process that must be undertaken for the benefit of economic development and like a force that cannot be stopped. This essay will examine the benefits and threats of globalization on the business environment and will rely on the use of a relevant journal article to provide examples. Opportunities Globalization has meant that many opportunities have presented themselves to businesses and people throughout its development. One such opportunity, supported by the chosen journal article, concerns opportunities for changes in the traditional workplace and work organization. In recent years, it has become clear that the link between production and employment of personnel should not be concentrated in one specific physical location. Due to globalization's advances in internationalization of production, companies that operate in many different companies may consider moving their production sites to many countries around the world in order to best meet their company's objectives and to reduce costs to a minimum. This opportunity created by globalization has dramatically reduced costs and created jobs around the world in companies that traditionally would have only had workers in one location. making the task of setting prices very difficult in this country.
