    We are currently in the family life cycle of joining families. According to McGoldrick (2011), during this stage we create our new marriage system and try to follow our parents' models. Creating our family life cycle has been difficult because going back to school has been stressful and our family dynamic has changed because my needs have changed. With school and work being stressful and taking up a lot of my time, my fiancé's role in our household had to change. Some of these changes include household chores, financial means and emotional support. Throughout this process, there was some role conflict between us because we had started creating defined roles before I started school, and it was very harmonious.
