As technology advances, electronics become smaller and smaller. More than 10 years ago, cell phones were the size (if not larger) of cordless home phones. You would only see them worn by businessmen or lawyers. Now there are 8 year olds with blackberries. Cell phones are an important part of most of our lives, but what effects have they had on American culture? Of course, cell phones make life easier. We no longer need to call someone to deliver a message, just send a text message. It's convenient to be able to call a number and have the person you're looking for come, a bit like a direct line. This eliminates the anxiety of wanting to call someone, but being afraid their parents, siblings, or even partner will pick up.
