    Rent or buy: the debateSome people may believe that buying a house is part of the American dream and that renting an apartment is not comparable, but satisfied tenants would disagree. Although owning a home provides a sense of security while allowing for modifications without permission, renting is more often preferred over buying because of the expense of updating, combined monthly utility payments, and paying the Insurance on a house has a high price. A homeowner has many luxuries, such as forming lasting friendships with neighbors, making changes to the landscaping of their yard, and painting and designing their home. While this remains true, renting an apartment comes with several different options and amenities that are just as convenient as buying a home. Apartment complexes have begun to form into small communities where they offer several luxuries including indoor swimming pools, game rooms, weight rooms, personal amenities. trainers, security systems and indoor parking as well as dozens of other options to choose from according to the National Multi Housing Council (Council, 2011). Since a homeowner would have to spend thousands of dollars to obtain these items, having these amenities in an apartment has become a better option than purchasing a house. Homeowners often have more living space in their home, which can be a significant advantage over renting an apartment. The National Housing Council said “larger apartments, combined with new designs, conveniences and conveniences, are revolutionizing apartment living.” (Council, 2011) This suggests that apartments are designed to provide more space for tenants while including and adding amenities that were not available in the past... middle of paper...... only way to live a happy and fulfilling life or to live the American dream. Renting an apartment has become one of the best ways to save money, connect with a small community of people, and enjoy the luxury of amenities that might not otherwise be afforded in an average household.
