Essay / The Bible In The Holy Bible - 2064
They consider these books to be sacred, but not necessarily the Word of God. The Apocrypha are the fifteen books omitted from the Holy Bible, used in Protestant Christianity as well as the Jewish religion. These books were not directly cited in the New Testament as the Holy Scriptures or the Word of God. There is also no internal evidence that these books were inspired by Father. They have been proven to contain errors in some books (especially the book of Tobit) and even contradict each other. Jesus refers to the Old Testament as noted previously, and never shows any attention to the addition of this apocrypha (“Study Resources:: The Canon of Scripture”). The early churches never considered them scripture and so there was no inherent need to include them.
