  • Essay / English Semester 102 - 978

Throughout this semester, we had to write many types of essays. Although this is a college English course, there is still room for improvement. I made a lot of progress during the course semester. I was able to identify my weaknesses. I learned how to make improvements in areas where I had problems. Even though each essay we did was different, I was able to start with one essay and throughout the semester grow it into two more essays. I was able to modify my writing style to suit the type of audience I was working with. I will continue to work on my writing and improve it. As the semester progressed, we moved from projecting change to public argumentation. I was able to look back at how an essay was developed into multiple essays. The type of article I wrote determined how well I managed to convince my audience. The audience for the papers changed throughout the semester, which also changed how I crafted my paper. In one essay, I used the sources to persuade readers to agree with me. In the other essay, I used my own words and thoughts to grab the reader's attention and get them to agree with my view on the matter. While one essay was aimed at a more formal audience and another was more informal, it needed to both convince and attract attention. One audience was gripped by the use of facts while the other was gripped by talking about experiences and explaining how the topic related to the audience. Even though the document was different, each article required some type of persuasion. The process of writing articles can be very frustrating. You need to gather your thoughts first. Putting your ideas together can be one of the most difficult parts of writing because you may not know what the middle of the paper is when you're just using a website. When you use a website, you already knew what type of article you had before you read it. Additionally, many sources in the database were quite long, making it more difficult to extract information. Although finding sources was not like what I was used to, I managed to find the ones I needed to complete the assignments required for the course. This class was much more intense than I expected, but I was able to get through the class. half. I learned a lot from this course that I will carry forward into the future and use in other courses. All the revisions and feedback I received during my time in class ultimately helped me. I feel like I'm gradually becoming a better writer. I will take everything I learned in this course and use it for future reference when writing articles. Overall, I enjoyed this class this semester.
