    Everyone wonders why the mind tends to wander and starts thinking about something other than the task at hand. You start thinking about where you are rather than where you are or about an event that happened in the past. The state of consciousness is called daydreaming. Daydreaming is “a common variation of consciousness in which attention shifts toward memories and desires, away from the immediate situation” (Zimbarbo 332). Mostly everyone dreams every day. Leaving without reverie is abnormal. Normally, thirty (30) percent of the day is spent daydreaming (Zimbarbo 332). People who dream can be positive and negative.
