Whether we realize it or not, we all engage in business every day of our lives. From small transactions in a store to working in a professional environment, the many ways businesses interact and shape our lives fascinate me. It is for this reason that in the last years of my life I have attempted to broaden my personal experience of the world, in order to be the best possible candidate for this course. This centers around my schooling at Repton, where I studied business, politics and photography. Business studies taught me the functional ideas that I believe underpin any successful business: allowing me to comfortably discuss the inner workings of a business, whether a multinational conglomerate or from a local convenience store. I believe that in either of these situations, the underlying principles that allow a successful business to thrive remain constant, and it is this constancy that interests me so much when it comes to the nature of businesses for profit. I have attempted to broaden my interest by regularly engaging with the wider economic world, in order to understand the global trends that are shaping and changing the business world. These companies intrigue me because they offer perhaps an example of modern monopolists, dominating their respective fields while being very difficult to pin down in terms of global placement. Yet despite some calls, as the report points out, for the breakup of these large companies, I believe that their capital investments in the world of electronics and communications advance the business world rather than hinder it , which makes them profitable. Politics has allowed me to better contextualize my study of business, highlighting the external factors that can influence the success of a business in a given location and political atmosphere. As someone born in Turkey, recent questions about Brexit raise significant concerns not only about Britain's willingness to accept foreign investment and interactions, but also about the economic future of businesses in the Kingdom -United. The relevance of this to business management was demonstrated to me when I undertook an internship program at Zmpay Global, a cross-border payments company that regularly deals with clients around the world. I believe that at the moment, more than any other, Britain faces economic threats but also a strong sense of opportunity, and I hope that business studies will give it a better understanding of the possibilities that exist for this country outside the European Union. Union. Outside of the classroom, I believe my extracurricular exploits developed a personal character and discipline that informed and aided my academic pursuits. Sport, in particular, has been a,.
