In George RR Martin's acclaimed hit series A Song of Ice and Fire, many characters are plagued by their own problems caused by the Game of Thrones each character faces main participle. At the center of the game is Cersei Lannister, a woman who has more power than most noble men, and she is not afraid to abuse it when she deems it necessary. Behind this power, however, lies one of the most psychologically complex and distraught characters in the book series. Through point of view chapters and her actions as seen by other characters, this article will identify, characterize and diagnose many of the psychological disorders and traumas that Cersei Lannister faced. Cersei Lannister was born a fraternal twin with her brother Jamie Lannister. Their father Tywin Lannister is one of the most powerful men in Westros, possessing as much wealth in gold as in power as a commander on the battlefield. For the first 15 years of Cersei's life, her father Tywin was the Hand of the King, acting as the true king's enforcer and was often said to be more influential than the true king of the time. This power meant that Cersei and her brother Jamie had the opportunity to grow up and be involved with some of the most influential people in all of Westros, but also had to deal with the pressure of learning the proper etiquette and roles of their distinctive gender. , like wearing dresses and understanding that she would one day be married to a prince. Although up to this point in her life Cersei was relatively normal and led a luxurious life, the death of her mother Joanna was the first trauma she faced.
