    Jordan Baker's character as seen by Nick is someone who was lucky enough to be part of the upper class and spends many nights attending parties sumptuous. She is a woman of sexual desire and she will do whatever she has to to get ahead. Nick can see right through her and quickly learns that she can't be trusted. He discovers that Daisy's husband, Tom, is having an affair, and Jordan knows about it. She even seems happy to know that too. So much so that during a dinner they attend at the Buchanans' house, Tom receives a phone call, causing the two (Daisy and Tom) to abruptly leave the dinner table. When Nick asks Jordan what's going on, she informs him, "Why?" Tom has a wife in New York” (Fitzgerald 15). Jordan elaborates on the situation even further, almost proud of what she knows. This little piece of information not only tells Nick details about Daisy's life that he didn't know existed, but also lets him know about Jordan's willingness to gossip about her friend. She may be beautiful and desirable, but Nick also sees the type of woman Jordan is, she has one glaring flaw that cannot be overcome. Jordan is a liar.
