    Participating in an NHS taster day sparked an interest in medicine in me as I had the opportunity to experience how a keyhole operation would be carried out and how a scrub nurse would prepare for surgery. Additionally, working with Tor View students has allowed me to spend time with children with disabilities and lead activities such as arts and crafts, improving my communication and planning skills, in addition to 'be alert at all times. This responsible role allowed me to see the difficulties they encounter and the enthusiasm they have to achieve their goals. It made me appreciate their hard work, patience and positivity, making me aware of the importance of sensitive and responsive communication. We have raised awareness of stereotypical behavior and that we should not let first impressions decide how we treat a person, this is something that I believe is vital to a doctor's mindset. Here I displayed my creativity by creating banners and posters to convey our message. I represented my community by being a long-term volunteer police cadet, which made me more responsible and confident and allowed me to improve my community.
