“The Life and Times of Walt Disney” Walt Disney is the greatest entrepreneur of all time in the minds of most young and old from all over the world. The reason is that he started his “business”, selling sketches, when he was around seven years old. He was an energetic child, especially since he painted the side of his barn with tar. For him, school work was boring, which he said once he was much older. Walt Disney was a family man, given that he had so many children; his children even had many children. Walt Disney was a man of great talent, character and imagination, who deeply loved fairy tales. Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Hermosa, Illinois. He was one of five children, four boys and one girl, born to Elias Disney and Flora Call Disney. His father was of Irish-Canadian descent and his mother was of German descent. Although he was born in Hermosa, he lived most of his childhood in Marceline, Missouri. When he was seven, instead of doing his homework like he was supposed to, he sold sketches. Most of these sketches were images of animals and nature. At one point, his sister helped him paint the side of the barn with tar. Growing up, he fell in love with trains. At night, he stayed in bed and listened to the trains go by, because he lived near a railway line. This is why trains run around Walt Disney Land and Walt Disney World. When he was a teenager, during the day he attended McKinley High School in Chicago, Illinois. In the evening, he attended the Academy of Fine Arts. He also liked to imitate his hero, Charlie Chaplin, for his friends. In the fall of 1918, when Walt was just seventeen, he attempted to enlist in the army. He wanted to go... middle of paper ......
