Essay / Restrictions on the right to vote: a silent societal problem
I believe that the most important societal problem currently is that of restrictions on the right to vote. November is just around the corner, and so is the right to vote for who we think is the best candidate for the Oval Office. However, the new voting restrictions will make the voting process more difficult for certain groups. These laws will affect up to millions of potential voters in the next election. We all have the right to vote. The government also has the right for certain groups to make this ballet more difficult to broadcast. Voting restriction is so important because it prevents many people from voting, a specific group of people has been targeted, and the reason the law was passed is wrong. The 2016 election will be hit with many restrictive voting laws, making things more difficult. vote for the general public. There are 31 states that require government ID cards before voting. About 11% of people able to vote do not have a government ID card, according to Democratic U.S. Rep. Marcia Fudge. Very often we hear that a politician is particularly interested in his situation because of the financial support of a multi-million dollar company. I don't want that. I want to be able to say that this is the America I voted for, the America I want to help shape. I don't want an America that falls into the hands of the rich and powerful. This is why restrictions on voting rights are the most important societal problem, because votes matter..
