    In the creation of the United States, many important events occurred. This article aims to highlight a few of these events, including: Magna Carta, Mayflower Compact, Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, and Federalist Documents. Many events in American history helped make the United States a free and independent country. The Declaration of Independence explains in particular the rights and freedoms of Americans. Each document is like a springboard that leads to the next and builds on the previous document. The Magna Carta was the first document in which English subjects forced the English king into power; grant and protect the rights of subjects. This was important since the king at the time could do whatever he wanted. However, in practice this English legal charter did not limit the king's power.
