I will discuss the definition of globalization from different points of view. I will compare and contrast these definitions. I will examine how, over time, globalization has changed by definition. Globalization affects many businesses. Superdry is one of the companies involved, which operates in many countries around the world. I will look at how this has affected Superdry. Looking at the history, country of origin, clothing style and how it affected the countries it expanded to. Paul Wetherly and Dorron Otter define globalization as "the special level that adds the supranational level of focus to the emphasis on commercial activity." but emphasizes the connections between spatial levels, from local to global” (Otter, The Business Environment Themes and issues 2nd edition, 2008, p. 207). John Baylis, Steve Smith, and Patricia Owens define globalization as "primarily simply [or simplistically!] defined as a process of increasing interconnectedness among societies, such that events in one part of the world have increasingly more effects on distant peoples and societies. A globalized world is a world in which political, economic, cultural and social events become increasingly interconnected, and also a world in which they have more impact” (John Baylis SS, 2014, p. 9). There are two definitions of globalization. globalization, but the two differ from each other. This shows that people will have their own interpretation of globalization and therefore there is no single definition. They both talk about the existence of connections on a global scale. However, Wetherly and Otter talk about these connections in the business world and Baylis, Smith and Owens refer to these connections with corporations and people.
