  • Essay / Violent video games and their effects on children.

Video games have been around since the early 1940s. That means people have been playing video games for at least 74 years. Based on research, the first violent video game was released in 1976, known as Death Race. This game has been described as sick and disturbing. Death Race was a driving game and you received points when you crashed into people. Think it's violent, imagine the violence in video games 28 years later. Violent video games affect the present and future because they impact children's minds, behavior and education. Since the appearance of video games, numerous researches and experiments have been carried out to publish their effects on the players of these games. Several psychosocial characteristics, such as hostility, anger and diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or Asperger syndrome, are believed to be linked to violent video games. Those who suffer the most from these games are children and young adolescents. These violent games affect children's minds in many harmful ways. Research has shown that some violent video games can lead to a mental disorder known as schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that makes it difficult to differentiate between what is real and what is not. It also makes it difficult to think clearly, have normal emotional responses, and act correctly in social situations. Video games prevent young people from understanding the difference between real life and gaming. There was a boy who went to daycare, he was 8 years old and was passionate about video games. One morning, he shot his mother as she lay in bed. After that, he called his grandmother and told her: "Something is wrong with mom, she doesn't understand... in the middle of a paper... this is bullshit." Many children become hostile to each other, leading to many fights at school. Not only do children lose friends and feel unsafe at school, but they also get kicked out, causing them to fall behind in school and fail again. The failure rate in middle school and at the start of high school is very high. I believe that popular video games have a very strong impact on this rate and that if we do nothing about it, the situation will only get worse. Therefore, violent video games have many harmful effects on the people who play them. Violent video games affect the present and future because they impact children's minds, behavior and education. Violent video games affect everything important to children. Protecting children from the harmful effects of violent video games on them.
