CASE STUDY Hello, my name is Carl Robbins, I am the current campus recruiter for ABC, Inc. Working at ABC, Inc. has been great for the last 6 or Last 7 months, and I wouldn't I gave up these last few months for nothing, life is good. We all know that nothing lasts forever and that the ABC, Inc. utopia was about to end. A few weeks later, around Memorial Day, the stress factor exploded. I was blindsided by a Mike Tyson uppercut or an Ali jab. My boss Monica Carrolls, the operations supervisor at ABC, Inc., asked me a few weeks earlier to set up some interviews and hire the top 15 candidates for a new department that would report directly to her. I interviewed almost 100 candidates; Each candidate was given a 100-question multiple-choice test and a rigorous question-and-answer session for about 30 minutes each session, just to see how well the candidate would respond under pressure. A few weeks passed and I made my decision and hired the 15 candidates who I thought were best suited for the vacant position, so I hired those candidates and let them know that the position would begin on June 15. I was delighted that each candidate of my choice accepted the job offer provided they had a few additional qualifications. Applicants are expected to complete a series of physical exams and a drug test to begin orientation on June 15. All the candidates were enthusiastic and accepted the offer. I created files for new applicants and gave them to the Human Resources department at ABC, Inc. The Human Resources department's job was to help me establish a training program, orientation, manuals, policy booklets and other issues I may encounter. I was thrilled and assured Monica that everything was and would be taken care of because I thought I could trust the HR department to handle all the work of finalizing the new hire files. A few days have passed and I think I may have honked the horn a little too soon. One day I decide to go to our company's internal intranet and look at the files. The intranet is my company's internal internet service.
