  • Essay / My Psychology Interview Interview - 982

For my psychology interview interview, I had the privilege of interviewing Elaine, who is the principal of Preschool X, which is an educational institution. She reports that she has held this position for 13 years since its inception. Elaine is a close friend of my aunt, which is how I met her. She explained that her responsibilities include: hiring all school-related staff, submitting criminal background checks, medical reports of all staff and children must be up to date, and have also developed a program that teachers must carry out. She organizes parent meetings and deals with parents on a daily basis. For any issues that arise, Elaine meets with parents at least once or twice a week. Hold weekly staff meetings regarding the program. She also plays the role of coordinator of educational events, where she "invited people from the dinosaur museum or the pond park to come to her preschool to enrich the children." o Hiring and Selection ProcessElaine explained to me that she submitted her resume, the school board reviewed her credentials, and she also had to submit three letters of recommendation and was interviewed by the school board. Elaine said the reason she did well to be hired was "based on her past experience, recommendations from several people in the school system and my credentials." She believes that the most important factors for getting hired in today's market are "degrees, education and personality." o Workplace StressorsElaine says conflict between parents and teachers is a workplace stressor, even when teachers are absent, because she has to find available substitutes. “Parents are not complying with their medical obligations in order to stay in a pre...... middle of paper...... situation to draw attention to problems because otherwise they would not know about it. Elaine said she would like the principal to visit the school more often so they can see the progress as well as the small problems that are sometimes encountered in the school environment. She would like to share that she would like to have more meetings with management to update them at least once a month. His management approach is empathetic, organized, open and sure of his convictions, always trying to be helpful. For example, she changes the school curriculum, so she must remove current games and toys, in order to be in compliance with the new curriculum. “The teachers are frustrated, so I help them so that they don’t feel overwhelmed and so that they can evolve little by little.” My presence and my instructions ease their concerns. I am always there to support them in the face of new obstacles they must overcome..
