  • Essay / Reflections on Game Theory in Economics - 1937

According to Wikipedia, game theory is a branch of applied mathematics used in the social sciences (mainly economics). Game theory can also be defined as a theory of competition stated in terms of winnings and losses between opposing players. Game theory attempts to mathematically trap behavior in strategic situations, in which one person's success in making choices depends on those of others. The traditional application of this theory attempts to find a balance in these games, in equilibrium. Each player in the game has adopted a strategy that does not resemble them (game theory). For a psychologist, what we call game theory, for economists, it is the theory of social situations which describes very precisely what game theory is. Game theory is appropriate in board games like poker and bridge. Game theory research primarily focuses on how groups of people interact. Game theory has two main branches. The two main branches of game theory include: Cooperative game theory and non-cooperative game theory. Game theory also includes many different types, including cooperative and non-cooperative games, other types which I will discuss briefly later. In addition to game theory, economic theory includes 3 other branches which are all related to game theory (What is it). game theory?)Branches of economic theory:Decision theory: Decision theory is a field of study of discrete mathematics, related to and of interest to practitioners in all branches of science, engineering and all human social activities. or ideal decision makers make or should make decisions, and how optimal decisions can be reached (decision theory).
