    Government Funded ProjectsThe United States government has contributed to the advancement of our nation in many ways. They created several pioneering projects and programs that benefited the country. Some programs include the creation of the ARPANET, the Manhattan Project, and NASA, but NASA stands far above the rest. The NASA program is a more beneficial government-funded project than ARPANET and the Manhattan Project because of its financial benefits, its usefulness to American citizens, and its positive impact on the planet. A government fund is defined as “a government-owned private equity fund.” fund, usually organized through a federal or provincial agency or Crown corporation” (“Glossary” np). The U.S. government uses its fund to create projects that benefit the distribution of revenue created by tax financing programs, health and human services, education, entitlements, infrastructure, defense, and other appropriations. It was through this funding that the Manhattan Project, ARPANET and NASA were created. Everyone has heard of NASA, but not everyone knows where it comes from. is an independent agency of the United States Government responsible for aviation and spaceflight (“NASA”). This project marked the beginning of space exploration and proved to be one of the most beneficial projects ever created. This initiative was quickly initiated when Russia launched Sputnik, the first satellite, into space. The launch of Sputnik is what led directly to the creation of NASA.
