    On a cold afternoon in late 1977, a newly married 26-year-old woman was dropped off in front of her Volkswagen Beetle by her sister-in-law. Her name was Gini McNair. She greeted her companion, unlocked the driver's door and got into her vehicle. Sitting behind the wheel with the key in the ignition, she glanced around the deserted road to Boulder Canyon, located outside of Boulder, Colorado. As she waited for her dusty red Volkswagen to warm up, she spotted another, light blue, coming down Sugarloaf Road toward her. When she glanced at the driver as he passed, he took the opportunity to examine her as well. With sharp eyes, Ted Bundy quickly examined Gini as he walked past her. When his gaze met hers, Gini immediately felt like she had just received a quick punch in the stomach. He turned around at the bottom of Sugarloaf Road and headed toward where she was parked. As he walked towards her window, she rolled it down. He leaned over and asked, “Are you having car trouble?” " " No. "" she replied quickly. “Oh… well, I am!” he retorted in a loud and alarming voice. She looked at him in surprise, she knew she had to run away. "Well, I'm sorry, but I don't really know much about cars. I don't think I'd be able to help you." He suddenly got angry and said, “Well, maybe you COULD!” told her again she couldn't, rolled up her window and left. Gini didn't tell many people the story of that day, she thought it was just one of those strange things that happens sometimes. One night a few months later, she and her husband were watching the news and a story about Ted Bundy came on.
