Socrates once said: “The only true wisdom is to know that you know nothing. » I would like to learn for the sake of learning, education, appreciation, dedication and success. As an immigrant from Taiwan, I had the chance to seek a better education in America, New York. I am extremely grateful to my parents for bringing me here, sacrificing their best for my siblings and me. I have progressed in mathematics since 3rd grade and I have progressed in science since 8th grade. My school, Columbia Secondary, also offers engineering classes like computer science which I am currently taking. I am on top of all my classes and maintain good grades all the time. I would like to become a child psychologist with a doctorate in the future. In the near future, I want to be as far ahead as possible in my educational career. I must succeed in the future to show my parents that they did not waste their life, their youth and their efforts for nothing. My mother gave up her doctorate so her children could graduate, and I am determined to prosper in return. Carpe Diem is another reason I won't do it....
