There is no other candidate for best group, because no one will ever be able to match the musical level of the Beatles. Additionally, they had an influence on musical style, fashion, and even worldview to some extent (to the extent that, perhaps for the first time, audiences cared about what a pop start thought ). The band was mentioned in newspapers virtually every day early in their career and was part of almost the entire world's consciousness (http://www.hooksandharmony.com/20-reasons-beatles-greatest-ever/) . The band was perfect for the generation it was created for, but anyone would think that later generations would move on to their own music...... middle of paper ......eat/)! The Beatles' success can be attributed to a combination of factors, including the songwriting genius of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, the guitar prowess of George Harrison, the artful simplicity of Ringo Starr as a drummer and the strong group harmonies that were a distinctive feature of their recordings (http://rockhall.com/inductees/the-beatles/bio/).Moreover, the Beatles mastered the art of music. The rhythm and sections of their songs were put together so perfectly that no one else in the world could touch them. They were an early innovator in the way music was played, produced, written and performed. All band members John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr all contributed to the Beatles' signature sound and songwriting (http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/life/music/news/story/2012- 06-10). /beatles-50th-anniversary/55506324/1).
