    Constraint theory is the inability to achieve one's goals due to the loss of positive stimuli or the presentation of negative stimuli. The Theory of Constraints can play a central role in the lives of some of my peers due to their inability to achieve their goals. In class, we discuss how the theory of strain causes many crimes to occur due to certain strains or stressors, which increases the likelihood of crime. Examples of stressors and strains are not having a positive role model, which can influence the commission of crimes. Another stress issue that can play a role in crime is the inability to achieve financial success. Monetary success usually leads to problems due to lack of income or lack of quality education, which would push individuals to commit crime. My take on general tension theory is that I have been put under a lot of pressure to succeed in life, and this has played a role in my own efforts to succeed.
