This section examined openDemocracy, a news site that attempted to be an unaffiliated global news site that could generate global public opinion . The idea that the entire world population could express their opinions on a single site was extraordinarily optimistic and short-sighted. However, the idea that public opinion can be assessed through new media is important. I think we are moving towards a world where all of our democratic decisions will be made online. We already put a lot of our personalities on the web and advertisers are quickly using that information. It seems logical that we would do the same thing for government and that democracy would be better off for it. I found the case study very interesting and I think it opened up an important topic of
