    Even though Alice claimed that she liked stress and that it kept her motivated, could this be one of the causes of this disease ? As she slowly lost her recent memories, she often remembered those of her mother and sister who died in a car accident. Maybe she didn't grieve their loss enough or accept it, which added to the stress, not to mention the other stress of teaching, lecturing, writing books and maintaining a home.
