    However, there is no specific XP system for improving your melee attacks like there is for your weapons. Ratchet & Clank does a great job of making players think about their actions and how they execute them. You can make the choice to use melee attacks rather than weapons, but you will end up with lower quality weapons and as you progress through the game, maxed weapons, from an XP perspective, become good more useful than your melee attacks. My strategy was to use the same weapons, waiting for ammo of course, until I maxed out their individual progression, then I would move on to my next weapon of choice for XP purposes. It's not a real Ratchet & Clank game if you don't talk about its cast of zany and diverse characters. One of the things I love most about this game, and what I loved most about the series, is how self-aware it is, not that the franchise hasn't not been. The cutscenes are sometimes rolling on the floor, laugh-worthy and ranging from tongue-in-cheek to cliché humor; Ratchet & Clank is full of hilarity, levity and genuine moments. It's Insomniac's wheelhouse and Ratchet & Clank is the perfect playground to not get too caught up
