Many people think there are more important things to take care of than just sleeping. Sleep helps the body and mind focus when they are awake and functioning. Getting enough rest is crucial to being awake during the day. Getting enough sleep is important because it allows people to stay awake and focused during the day, even though their sleep needs vary and lack of sleep affects the body and mind. Sleep is crucial to leading a very happy and healthy life. Without sleep, people can become less focused and be constantly tired during waking life. “Adequate sleep is increasingly recognized as an essential aspect of chronic disease prevention and health promotion” (Are you getting enough sleep?). To fight off threatening diseases and maintain a healthy lifestyle, a good night's sleep is the number one priority on the to-do list. However, most people think they have more important things to do than lie down and rest, but sleep is essential to a healthy life.
