  • Essay / Modern Ways to Bully Others: Cyberbullying - 837

We humans live in a corrupt society. There are many things that make life difficult to live with. For example, your job, your studies or even small things make your life difficult. One of the things that makes human life difficult is other humans. We are constantly harmed by our peers in harmful ways. This is called harassment and it is completely false. Since the dawn of time, people have been bullied in one way or another. This includes physical and verbal bullying. However, as we progress through time, we humans find new ways to bully others. A new way we have decided to hurt others is called cyber shopping. Cyberbullying involves harassing someone via the Internet. Cyberbullies mainly use social media to provoke someone. Text message harassment is also considered cyberbullying. Teenagers are an age group that experiences the most cyberbullying. This is because adolescents have not yet reached full maturity and do not fully understand the effects that bullying can cause. Cyberbullying is usually committed through social media sites. These include, but are not limited to, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Vine, YouTube, MySpace and Facebook. Using these social media sites, cyberbullies lie and spread rumors. They also post negative photos or videos about a person. They tell offensive jokes to humiliate someone. They also do other things. But the main reason they do these things is to offend a person. Cyberbullying can be prevented using many methods. The most important method to stop cyberbullying is to confront it. The first step to talking to your bully is not to offend them. Most of the time they will continue to fight against you and this time it might even hurt more than the last. So when you...... middle of paper...... bully on a social networking site like Facebook, your account should be taken down. Indeed, all social media sites must have a policy against harassment. The website may also block your IP address to prevent you from creating a new social media account. Another consequence of being a cyberbully is detention. If you are a victim of cyberbullying, you will at least be fined for your actions. The amount of the fine depends on the impact you had on the victim. If your acts of bullying have led to harmful changes for the victim, you may be imprisoned. How long you are locked up also depends on the case. You will most likely be locked up if the victim commits suicide. If you are a cyberbully, stop. The damage you cause will offend someone else. Just imagine yourself as a victim of cyberbullying.
