Essay / NRA, Government and Gun Control - 901
A major issue in the United States is gun control. I understand that some weapons should not be used by civilians, but there are some weapons that civilians should possess for their own protection. The weapons that civilians currently have are good, but they have many restrictions. The only other thing I can say about the weapons that civilians have is that they are not always on hand when needed. For example, rounds and clips are now subject to many restrictions. Magazines are also either banned or restricted until you can no longer use them. The organization fighting against gun control is the NRA. Many civilians are happy that the NRA is fighting gun control. I believe civilians have the right to bear arms. The NRA is an organization that fights against gun control. The NRA also stands for the National Rifle Association. The NRA supports the right to bear arms, but they don't want people to recklessly use guns. The history of this organization is immense, it was established in 1871. The NRA is also a non-profit organization. The NRA fights gun control in many ways, but it generally just goes to court to settle these debates. The NRA organized peaceful protests. The NRA has said these debates are far from over. President Obama also said the same thing. Both of these comments should be taken into consideration when deciding who will win this battle. In my opinion, I think the government is behind gun control. I understand that civilians should not use automatic weapons. Automatic weapons are illegal, if you are caught with an automatic weapon you could be in serious trouble. I don't understand why there are so many restrictions on semi-automatic weapons. There are still people who think this will... middle of paper ... pretend this issue is not a big deal but the president has shown us how important this issue is to the government and to him personally. Gun control is a huge problem that needs to be addressed immediately. The danger of gun control is visible everywhere, perhaps not as much here as in other states. The protection American civilians could gain by giving up their guns is tiny. The people who fight against gun control are people who care about themselves, their loved ones, and that the United States is not corrupted or destroyed. These are the people you should greatly respect. Those who fight against gun control are stupid people. Do you really think that if you give up your guns, people will give up theirs too? The numbers don't lie when it comes to gun control. The only question I have to ask you is: do you consider yourself a citizen or a subject ??
