Metabolic and behavioral factors appear to play a role in this serious disease. Foods that our bodies do not use or burn immediately are stored as fat. This accumulation of fat can cause weight gain which can lead to obesity. We can fight obesity through simple nutritional changes and a change in our daily lives. American views on obesity are not as strong as they should be. Obesity is a condition that is generally defined by a person's body mass index (BMI). Obesity can also be used as a general term for someone with an excessive amount of body fat.
