SpotifyMusic plays an important role in our lives, and many of us can't even live without music. Spotify was developed in 2006 by a team at Spotify AB, in Stockholm, Sweden. The company was founded by Daniel Ek, former CTO of Stardoll, and Martin Lorentzon, co-founder of TradeDoubler. Spotify Ltd. now operates as the parent company in London and Spotify AB manages research and development in Stockholm. The Spotify app was launched for public access in 2008. The first steps towards offering free accounts to the public without invitation were taken on February 10, 2009, when Spotify opened free registration in the United Kingdom.
