It is not uncommon for children to communicate many elaborate ideas that make absolutely no sense based on poorly understood information. However, young children are not the only ones who misunderstand information. People of all ages have been guilty of misinterpreting what they hear. As a freshman in high school, such an incident happened to me. While enrolled in Mr. McGee's Freshman Honors English class, I had to write essays almost every week for reading/writing packets. One week I had the misfortune of misinterpreting the page number I was given for the writing assignment. Therefore, when I sat down to write the essay, I wrote on the wrong number.
