Task 2: Ethical and Conflict ChallengesMukul Sethi632244UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNEthical DilemmaIntroductionWhile developing a prognosis system for my client, my team and I discovered major bugs that prevented me from delivering on time. I thought about the situation balancing the pros and cons of the situation and found an approach to being honest about the situation to my client. I have discussed my opinion on the situation by providing appropriate reasons in the following report. Leading by example Although my teammate suggested a dishonest solution to me, I would never agree with him on the suggestion that he lied to the GP about the situation. the product being a demo. That said, I agree that yes, there was a significant delay in the project and it would still be a few days before the product could be ready. However, I would never mislead my client because being honest about something would definitely show me and my team the inability of the team to deliver on time and it would also prevent us from sending a message that my team couldn't even build a demo correctly and would show our courage to come forward and accept our mistake. This is if the GP tests the demo on a patient and the system results don't match their diagnoses, this could really be a problem as a wrong diagnosis would not only make the GP aware that the build quality of the system is poor, but also that the final product would not be of the best quality. Which could also harm the company's image. The other side of accepting a dishonest suggestion would also be that it would send a bad message to the entire team that I'm not brave enough to take responsibility. ......ch (win-win for Sarah and Tim and the team) Finally, I would be willing and accept the facts and answers (feedback) that Sarah gives me regarding her "yes-yes" attitude, c Maybe it's not her attitude but the management pressure that even she faces, I also have to understand the fact that I was appointed to make it easy for Sarah to manage a bigger team. I also thank Sarah for listening to me and I am sure, I would definitely find a solution for the same and Sarah could understand that yes the team could be stressed and a little praise and more communication with the team would send a positive message to the entire team. Conclusion After meeting Sarah, I would convey the message to the team about the current situation and discussion with Sarah and motivate my team to overcome the conflict and work on the given projects.
