Every year in October, our advanced English teacher gives us the Voice of Democracy test. There is no denying that we all try to avoid writing it because we don't like writing any type of paper. But we are told how much it means to the judges to read them and that we should stay positive. Although writing this article is not my favorite thing to do, it gives me a better understanding of how our nation will improve in the future. As more and more people retire, it will be my generation that takes over. When I started researching information for my article, I realized how important it is for my generation to be aware of what is happening now, so that in the future we know how to deal with situations which emerge. I am optimistic about the future of our nation, as it will be up to us to improve areas such as our technology, education, health care, and environment. Technology is constantly evolving and new discoveries are always being made. Ten years ago, no one would have thought that it was possible to print a plastic gun and use it functionally. Today we use three-dimensional printers to print anything from jewelry to clothing. In ten years, it may be possible to reproduce parts of the human body needed for surgery using 3D printing. If we are optimistic about these possible improvements, there is a good chance that they will come to fruition. Alongside 3D printing, technological advances are also still being made using mechanical agents. In factories, work used to be done entirely by humans. As we move into the future, more and more work is done by these agents, or robots. Through these robots, products can be mass produced and more money can be made for the company...... middle of paper ... my generation will have the initiative and power to reverse the the growing greenhouse effect and to stop deforestation. I also believe that we will be able to perfect the current problem of finding renewable resources for energy sources. As I get older, I begin to realize that these decisions will be mine and others' in the future. To be optimistic about our nation's future, I must also be optimistic about my future. Improvements in technology, education, healthcare, and the environment will play an important role in determining our future, and I believe my generation can handle everyone's pressure. While writing this article, I learned a lot about the future of my country and I am very excited to see how it turns out. I am optimistic about the future of our nation because it will be my generation that changes it for the better..
