Essay / Unknown heroes are all around us
People often talk about superheroes when they hear the word hero. Teachers, doctors, pastors and volunteers are also considered heroes. What is a hero, you ask? To be a hero, does it always require physical strength, or are there other traits that define a hero. A hero can be anyone we admire. Heroes can be real or fictional; sometimes it could be someone we see every day or someone we met once in our life, it could be a man or a woman, a child or an adult. Our heroes could be Batman, Spiderman, Thor or Cap. America, or our moms, dads, grandparents, sisters and brothers and even our pets can be our heroes. Single mothers who go without basic necessities, foster parents, a donor, children who quit their jobs to care for sick parents, people who give up their dreams to provide for their loved ones, cancer patients who continue to fight for their lives – these are examples of heroes in the community. Heroes can do many different things that inspire and encourage others to do their best. Heroes make us find and embrace our best qualities and share our experience with others who need it. When we see the Red Cross volunteers, the dangers these men and women face, their extreme courage, we respect them and we also want to help others. We decide to join different organizations and become active volunteers, whether it is to preserve wildlife, protect homeless pets or fight corruption. Heroes motivate us to realize our strengths and make our small contribution to good deeds. Heroes not only save us; they help us save ourselves. Heroes change the world. They like the feeling of helping others and try not to miss the opportunity to be helpful and friendly. Heroes make sacrifices for others, whether they are small or huge. Very often they are not prepared for what they are going to experience, but always make the right decisions, even in the most difficult and confusing situations. This is the main reason why they receive respect, recognition and support for their future good deals. It's not difficult: help someone in need, be a friend, be reliable and friendly, do your best to realize your passions and follow your heart. There are more heroes around us than we think. To find them, look at your parents, your teachers, your neighbors and your friends. You will find that they are great people who make great sacrifices for others, using their courage to face the trials and tribulations of modern life. It is amazing how heroes do not lose their humanity in the face of challenges and are always ready to help people in need. Sometimes we don't even know the great deeds of all these people, because some heroes don't share their stories because they don't want to brag. Look around you and you will probably find your hero.
