Essay / Exploring the Moral Dilemma of Abortion - 1135
The US government passed a law making it illegal to kill an unborn child. This law states: "Any person who engages in conduct that violates any of the provisions of the law listed in subsection (b) and thereby causes death or bodily injury (as defined in Section 1365) to a child, who is in utero at the time the behavior is committed. takes place, is guilty of a separate offense under this section. (Cornell University Law School, n.d.) The law essentially states that if one kills an unborn child, one kills a human being under federal law and is guilty of murder and should be punished otherwise. I believe this is true because if you kill an unborn child, that child is still a living human being, just like everyone else. If someone killed another human, they would be punished for their actions. This goes hand in hand: an unborn child has the same status as a born human being. Whoever you kill, whether born or not, must be punished for the murder of a human being.
