    Research has proven that teens are not mentally ready to drive at a young age. “New findings from brain researchers at the National Institutes of Health explain for the first time why efforts to protect younger drivers generally fail. The weak link: the so-called “executive branch” of the adolescent brain—the part that weighs risks, makes judgments, and controls impulsive behavior” (Davis 2). This research shows that it may be better to increase the driving age, especially if teenagers' impulses are not fully satisfied.
