Many factors influence the high levels of educational achievement of Asians and Asian immigrants. The environment that students in Asia experience is totally different from that of foreigners, such as schooling, testing and grading system. Non-Asians have observed many high academic achievements among Asians and are beginning to make false assumptions. The education system in Asia is different from that of the United States, which explains the stereotype that ordinary Asians are intelligent. Education would be considered the most important factor in determining a prosperous future. Education is the concept of acquiring knowledge and skills through learning, research or teaching. The most common way to receive an education is to attend school. Many countries around the world have provided education to their citizens. Western countries fund more affordable public schools while Eastern countries prefer high-quality education in private schools. People have different ways of acquiring their knowledge, but no matter what, they will trade time, money and energy to get an education, because "education is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change the world” (Mandela). Although good quality education is highly recommended, but not necessarily necessary for learners. In all seriousness, not all students learn in the classroom. Low-income families could not afford their child to attend school, which involves many investments like textbooks, uniform and lunch. To prevent a decline in literacy rates, many countries offer support to low-income families so that every child has equal opportunities to learn.
