Essay / Biggest difficulty about education - 733
Being a teenager is really difficult. This is the time when you have to face the greatest number of changes in your life. Today in class we were asked to write an essay on the three main pressures we feel as teenagers. The three pressures I feel are the most common among teenagers: being popular or fitting in, academics, and living up to others' expectations as well as your own. I will clarify these terms and give advice on how to deal with them. Firstly, “being popular” and “fitting in”. What does this mean? These expressions could have so many different meanings. The confirmed definition of popular is: regarded with great favor, approval, or affection, especially by the general public. Why does this even help teenagers. It is upsetting that society today has to classify or judge people based on their popularity. There are even articles and tutorials on the Internet on how to become popular at school! Honestly, it's pathetic. Teenagers face so much pressure due to popularity issues that most of them are bullied or become bullies because of it. All the cliques and groups go to your head and make you feel like you're worthless. This can lead to depression, but that's another topic and will be covered another time. Second, academics. In today's world, education is the key to success. You must be extremely successful in your educational career, to even seek employment. Because if you don't study well, you will fail your big exam. If you fail your big test, you fail the course. If you fail the course, you are stressed. If you are stressed, you will fail many classes. If you fail multiple courses, you do not earn a high school diploma. If you don't get a high school diploma, you don't get into college, and if you don't get into college, it's... middle of paper... . the expectations of others, but also to live up to yours. If you are a teenager, you deal with stress and pressure every day. You may face pressures regarding your friendships, your family, your grades, your exams, your homework, your lack of sleep, your health, your extracurricular activities, your love life, your future, the list is endless. So if you're considered "unpopular" or people view you as an "outcast," don't worry. You might become their boss one day, and it's definitely not worth it. If you're struggling in school and can't maintain a decent GPA or can't do your homework, establish a routine, stick to it, and ask for help when needed. . Finally, if you can't meet other people's expectations with your own, do what makes you happy and you'll find that everyone around you will be too. These are the top three pressures that I think are most common among teenagers.
