    However, prefabrication is starting to gain momentum in the New Zealand construction industry. This is explored in more detail in section “3.0 Theoretical review”. There are five main typologies of prefabrication currently used in New Zealand. These range from component to complete prefabricated building. Component prefabrication is already widely used in the New Zealand construction sector, including on buildings that are not considered prefabricated. This typology includes parts of the building that can be prefabricated off-site to increase on-site productivity, such as assembled roof trusses or sections of wall framing.
