Essay / Patient Interaction Essay - 1065
Approaching a person and practicing what they have studied for at least eight years is always stressful. From pre-operative orders, seeing the patient, obtaining consent and preparing the person for the procedure they are about to undergo is only the first step. Once the operation is complete, surgeons must monitor the patient, fill postoperative orders, and write prescriptions, all while dictating everything that just happened is the next step. Despite all this, the surgeon should have good bedside manners and, unfortunately, many do, but some do not. Specialists should do everything step by step, taking their time and fully informing the patient about everything, explaining everything in detail so that there are no "holes" in what needs to be done, this would allow everyone to breathe better. Healthcare facilities should pay special attention to the time the surgeon must interact with the patient before and after the operation. Doing this would allow everyone to be on the same page.
